Resource Management
LFFA’s Resource Management department supports member Nations in their engagement with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans on fisheries management issues.
It does this by providing a venue for Nations to discuss issues firstly amongst themselves, and by providing the data and technical expertise necessary for members to make informed decisions.
Resource Management discussions are held at LFFA Forums, which are hosted throughout the calendar year. Each First Nation that is a signatory to the LFFA Governance Protocol sends one delegate to these forums, where various fisheries management priorities are discussed either in a Tier 1 (First Nations only) or Tier 2 (First Nations and DFO) setting.
The Resource Management department also runs several projects that help inform delegates about their fisheries. Browse the project information pages below for details.
