The LFFA stewardship department is dedicated to protecting the aquatic ecosystems and fisheries resources of the Lower Fraser region.

This department works collaboratively with First Nations communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to implement sustainable practices and preserve traditional ecological knowledge.

Stewardship Forums give interested fishers an opportunity to meet specifically on salmon stewardship issues.

Applying traditional First Nations methods in modern ways to increase food fishery access.

Creating an inventory of who is working in the Lower Fraser region, what they’ve accomplished, and what partnerships they’ve made along the way.

Ghost gear removal

Removing hundreds of pounds of nets, ropes, buoys, and corks annually on the Fraser River.
