Centre creek / Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe Projects

Ts'elxwéyeqw Tribe is leading this restoration project in collaboration with LFFA and Fraser Valley Watersheds Coalition.

Funded by the Aquatic Habitat Restoration Fund, work included excavation and removal of large woody debris that disrupted flow in Centre Creek, fish species monitoring, including trapping, and stream walks to identify fish species use and redds. There is an additional capacity building component to this project which supports Guardian involvement in the restoration work.

Spawning channel maintenance is ongoing, and additional spawning and rearing habitat is in the works which will primarily benefit coho and pink salmon.
